Miniatures/Conversions/The Blue Wizards

Edit this page (last edited February 7, 2006)

The Blue Wizards

This is how to do the conversion for Alatar and Pallando the Blue wizards. This isnt really much of a conversion but a different way to paint 2 models. There is 1 little bit that is tricky and dos'nt have to be done if not wanted.

The Parts

  • The Gandalf from the box set 'Escape from Orthanc' tho any old Gandalf the Grey will do.
  • The Saruman from the box set 'Escape from Orthanc' tho any old Saruman will do.
  • Something to remove the hats with. We used clippers
Optional
  • 2 Gandalf the Grey with a Hat.
  • 1 Elf with bow.
  • Glue
  • Brown
Paints. Im not big on paints so I will just say the colour.
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Skin paint
  • Grey
  • Black
  • White

Preperation

Quite simple really. Just take the models out of the box and remove the extras.

Optional bit

Remove the hats from the 2 Gandalfs with hats and the bow from the elf.

Assembaly

Simply put the models in the stand.

Optional Bit

Glue the hats onto the Saruman and Gandalf Model and stick the elf bow together and glue it to back of the model you want to be Alatar as he is the hunter.

Painting

Alater

First undercoat the one you want to be Alater in Black as he is a hunter and needs to be darker for more camoflage. Then ,depending on the blue your useing if your using a light blue you will need to add some black to it so it gets darker or if your useing a dark blue leave it as it is, go over the entire model in blue. Leave it to dry. Then paint the face the skin colour you chose and his hair grey and paint his staff yellow. Then just highlight the robes and leave to dry.

Optional Bit

Simply highlight the hat as you see fit and paint his bow brown.

Pallando

First undercoat the model you want to be Pallando in white as he is more of a healer. Then ,depending on the blue your useing if your using a dark blue you will need to add some white to it so it gets lighter or if your useing a light blue leave it as it is, go over the entire model in blue. Leave it to dry. Then paint the face the skin colour you chose and his hair grey and paint his staff yellow. Then just highlight the robes and leave to dry.

Optional Bit

Simply highlight the hat as you see fit.

This sound very nice and all, but we could do with some pictures!!

-King Of Gondor
I know but I dont have a Digital Camera

-The Converter
how about finging pics of the mniatures you used for the conversions, in this case Gandalf anad Saruman, remember to get the figuresd from the right box. Get a photobucket account or something similar and then once the pics are saved on that paste the first of the three adreeses here (forgot name possibly url) this would help a bit.
